Well here’s another piece of studio insanity…the sequel to Guy Ritchie’s 2009 imaginative re-imagining of Sherlock Holmes has gotten a new title…and it’s going to be called Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows…seriously!

Sherlock Holmes 2 (cause I’m not sure I can use that full title without wanting to throw something) reunites Robert Downey Jr’s Holmes with Jude Law as faithful companion Dr. Watson, and adds new cast members in the guise of Jared Harris’ Professor Moriarty, Noomi Rapace’s Sim, and Stephen Fry’s Mycroft.

Ritchie is back in the directors chair for the film which is scheduled for released on December 16th. More details as they appear.

Ah I don't think it's the worst name ever. The new Batman has a silly title, in my opinion.

If it was inspired by the stories I’d be okay with it, but it bares no resemblance. It’s up there with Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol. They are game titles not movies!

The Dark Knight Rises I can live with as it links to The Dark Knight, and pays respect to The Dark Knight Returns a little as it leaves the graphic novel’s identity intact.
