Mad Max and Mad Max 2 return to Irish screens from May 9th

From Oscar®-winning director George Miller, originator of the post-apocalyptic genre and mastermind behind the legendary Mad Max franchise, comes Mad Max: Fury Road, a return to the world of the Road Warrior, Max Rockatansky. George Miller’s much-anticipated return to the seminal post-apocalyptic world that he created more than 30 years ago with the iconic his Mad Max films will be celebrated with cinemas across Ireland showing Mad Max and Mad Max 2: The Road Warrior the weekend prior to release. Mad Max: Fury Road will be released in Irish cinemas on May 14th and will have its international debut at the prestigious Cannes International Film Festival this year. Fans will be re-introduced while new audiences will be blown away with the epic, heart-pounding ride through a post apocalyptic world gone mad.

Haunted by his turbulent past, Mad Max believes the best way to survive is to wander alone.  Nevertheless, he becomes swept up with a group fleeing across the Wasteland in a War Rig driven by an elite Imperator, Furiosa.  They are escaping a Citadel tyrannized by the Immortan Joe, from whom something irreplaceable has been taken.  Enraged, the Warlord marshals all his gangs and pursues the rebels ruthlessly in the high-octane Road War that follows. In career-defining performances, led by Tom Hardy (The Dark Knight Rises, Inception), who reinvents the iconic Max Rockatansky—Mad Max; Oscar®-winner Charlize Theron (Monster) as Furiosa, who leads a group of rebels across the Wasteland and Nicholas Hoult as Nux, a driven War Boy determined to catch them for the Immortan Joe, from whom something irreplaceable has been taken. Enraged, the Warlord marshals all his gangs and pursues the rebels ruthlessly in the high-octane Road War that follows.
