The Jameson Founded in 2003, the Dublin International Film Festival sets the agenda of the year with its programme of outstanding Irish and international film. has announced that award winning actress Kim Cattrall will be attending the Festival to screen exclusively to Irish audiences episodes of her new Sky Arts TV series Sensitive Skin and will participate in an elite master class at The Lir National Academy of Dramatic Art.
The admired actress has an esteemed career in cinema, theatre and television, from her film debut in Otto Preminger’s Rosebud to her roles in 80’s classics Mannequin and Big Trouble in Little China, up to Roman Polanski’s The Ghost Writer – she has also appeared on stage for her performances in Chekhov’s Three Sisters, Arthur Millers A View from the Bridge, and Noël Coward’s Private Lives on the West End. Her most iconic role as the alpha female Samantha Jones in HBO’s Sex and The City transformed her into one of television’s most beloved and infamous characters of all time and gained her international recognition. Kim Cattrall won over audiences, critics and peers as Samantha for which she was nominated for five Emmys, four Golden Globes (which she was awarded in 2002) and two Screen Actors Guild awards.

A fascinating speaker about her love of acting and her approach to her craft it is a honour to welcome Kim Cattrall to the Festival to discuss her career with Irish audiences and launch her new Sky Arts television programme Sensitive Skin.”
The Festival will screen episodes of Sensitive Skin in Movies@Dundrum, with Kim Cattrall in attendance. This Canadian black comedy, based on the critically acclaimed 2005 British series of the same name starring Joanna Lumley, stars Kim Cattrall as Davina, a former model and actress in the midst of a middle age crisis. Feeling as though she is losing her zest for life, she struggles with sexual temptation and professional jealousy, while trying to cope with her fear of the future alongside her husband, Alan (Don McKellar – Scott Pligrim, Slings and Arrows). Kim Cattrall has executive produced the series along with McKellar who has directed all episodes to date. Sensitive Skin will air in the UK and Ireland on Sky Arts 1 on Wednesday 1st April.

As part of her visit to the Festival, Kim Cattrall will be the focus of a master class hosted by The Lir Academy for their students. Following the success of Stanley Tucci’s Q&A to the students last year this will be the second year that The Lir will host these master classes.

Alongside this latest news the Festival announced that the 2015 JDIFF programme launch will be Wednesday 25th February. The 13th Jameson Dublin International Film Festival takes place from 19th – 29th March 2015. The full lineup for the Festival programme will be announced on the night to include exciting themed strands, along with a host of special guests and special events.
