#MyNameIs: StoryStock and Kerry Film Festival – Short Doc Competition

A unique collaboration between the Kerry Film Festival and StoryStock.com is seeking to rekindle our love of stories about people. #Mynameis, a new collaboration between the Kerry Film Festival and StoryStock.com, is asking people to submit stories of love, lust, romance, loss and triumph. The competition is looking for real stories about real people around the world. Ten stories, which should be videos of 3 minutes or less, will be selected for a live screening as part of the Kerry Film Festival.

The winner on the night will take home a prize fund of 1500 euro with the runner-up taking home a prize fund of €500.

According to StoryStock CEO Francis Fitzgibbon, people are perfectly placed to tell the stories of the people around them,

We have a great history and tradition when it comes to Storytelling. We are looking for short video stories about people from all around the world. The weird, the wonderful, the whacky. Our only caveat is that the stories must be real and must be about people.

Maeve McGrath, Artistic Director of the Kerry Film Festival, described the collaboration as a great way to bring storytelling to the fore of filmmaking,

Collaborating with StoryStock is a perfect fit for the Kerry Film Festival. The festival is always keen to encourage quality short filmmaking and KFF are delighted to provide a platform for screening a programme of selected StoryStock films. We are looking forward to viewing real stories from around the world.
