Variety is reporting that Eric Bana is set to star opposite our own Saoirse Ronan in director Joe Wright’s upcoming action-thriller Hanna.
The movie centres on a 14 year-old girl who has been brought up to be a ruthless killer. Leaving Eastern Europe for France she finds a home with a new family until she is dragged back by her father to his way of life. Desperate for escape she must fight her way to freedom.
Ronan stars in the title role with Bana being tapped to play her father. This movie is Ronan’s second outing with Wright, having previously worked together on the really rather good Atonement.
The movie will start shooting in Germany next month, for a probable summer 2011 release.
