Nocturnal

Wildcard to release Nathalie Biancheri’s Nocturnal in Ireland and UK from September 18th

Wildcard Distribution has announced the Irish and UK theatrical and VOD release of the relationship drama Nocturnal from Friday 18th September.

Nathalie Biancheri’s narrative feature debut stars Calm With Horses and Lady Macbeth star Cosmo Jarvis, Irish actress Lauren Coe (The Halcyon) and Sadie Frost (Bram Stoker’s Dracula, The Krays).

Set in an unremarkable Yorkshire coastal town, Nocturnal follows the story of Pete (Cosmo Jarvis), a disheveled and darkly compelling thirty-something who works as an occasional handyman at the local high school. There, he meets Laurie (Lauren Coe), an emotionally withdrawn student-athlete who recently relocated to town with her mother (Sadie Frost). After a series of curt interactions, these two strangers form a precarious friendship built on their mutual connection as outsiders. As they spend more time together, their unique bond grows, unraveling the truth behind Pete’s motives.

Rife with simmering emotional tension, the elegantly controlled character study boasts remarkably natural central performances from Jarvis and Coe, whose playful banter may conceal something more ominous.

From an original story by Olivia Waring and co-written with Nathalie Biancheri, Nocturnal was produced by Colin Michael Day and Coco Marie Schneider for Rickshaw Entertainment in association with Mor Productions and Resolve Media.

The film had its world premiere at the London Film Festival last October to critical acclaim and most recently had its Irish premiere at the Galway Film Fleadh.

Nocturnal will be released by Wildcard Distribution in Irish and UK cinemas as well as across VOD platforms on 18th September 2020.
