#Teilifis: NBCUniversal to bring Lenny Abrahamson’s TV series Chance to UK and Irish screens in May

NBCUniversal has picked up the Hulu original drama series Chance for its international networks in Europe. The series is directed and executively produced by Irish Academy Award-nominated director Lenny Abrahamson.

Based on the acclaimed novel by Kem Nunn, Chance is a provocative, psychological thriller that focuses on Eldon Chance, a San Francisco-based forensic neuropsychiatrist who reluctantly gets sucked into a violent and dangerous world of mistaken identity, police corruption and mental illness.

The series star Hugh Laurie in the lead role, and features Gretchen Mol, Lisa Gay Hamilton, Paul Adelstein, Ethan Suplee, and Stefania LaVie Owen. The series is produced by Fox 21 Television Studios and Groundswell Productions for Hulu in the US and sold internationally by 20th Century Fox Television Distribution. Abrahamson, Nunn, and Michael London are executive producers on the series, along with Alexandra Cunningham, who acts as the showrunner.

NBCUniversal will air the first season of Chance from April, starting in Poland, followed by the UK and Ireland, France, Germany, and Spain in May. The second season is due to premiere on Hulu later this year.
