Wolverine 2 – Shooting to begin in 2010/11

Wolverine star Hugh Jackman has confirmedthat principal photography on the follow-up to 2009’s somewhat disappointing prequel is set to begin late this year, early next.

As hinted in the post-credits scene in Wolverine the next movie is set to take place in Japan, and will see the clawed-one becomes an expert in martial arts, particularly those involving big swords.

In the comics Wolverine marries a Japanese woman called Itsu and fathers a son, Daken, but it is unknown if this will feature in the movie.

The 2010/11 shoot hints at a possible summer 2012 release, pitching it against Star Trek for the second time. First up for Jackman though is Real Steel for director Shaun Levy, which centres on an ex-fighter who becomes a promoter when human boxing is outlawed for being too violent, featuring fighting robots.
