Walt Disney Pictures Ireland has sent over this first look at an exciting new hand-drawn animation Winnie the Pooh.
The movie, which is based on 5 stories for the A.A. Milne classic series of books is the first big-screen Pooh adventure from Disney animation in more than 35 years. That in itself is reason to get excited.
Another good reason is the fact that veteran Disney animator/storyman/director Burny Mattinson (a key animator on the 1974 featurette Winnie the Pooh and Tigger Too!) serves as senior story artist, thus providing an experienced hand to help directors Stephen J. Anderson and Don Hall.
TV host Craig Ferguson lends his vocals to Pooh, with Jim Cummings, Tom Kenny, Travis Oates and Pixar direcator Bud Luckey also adding their tones. Zooey Deschanel has performed a special version of the theme just for the movie too.
The story itself follows Pooh, Tigger, Rabbit, Piglet, Kanga, Roo and Eeyore on a quest to save Christopher Robin from an imaginary culprit.
This is sure to be a hit with the whole family when it arrives July 15th, 2011.
