Opening this week, some 6 months (seriously!) after the United States, is Werner Herzog’s new film Bad Lieutenant: Port of Call New Orleans, bit of a mouthful that one. Starring Nicholas Cage and Eva Mendes, the movie sees Cage play a New Orleans police lieutenant. After suffering an injury while rescuing a drowning man, he is forced to take prescription painkillers to keep himself functioning. Soon he becomes addicted and becoming more and more unstable he starts to play fast and loose with the law.
