Liam Neeson as an action hero is one of the 10 best things to emerge in movies in the last 6 years. In an era where the mainstays of Bruce Willis and Arnie have taken a backseat the emergence of the grizzled Irish veteran star as force of violence and raw energy is a revelation. Good thing there’s even more Neeson beatdowns coming our way in the guise of Unknown.

The movie sees Neeson wake after a car accident to find that somebody has stolen his identity. With guys out to kill him and with no-one he can trust he sets out on a mission to get back to himself. That’s just about enough premise to hang the action on.

A fabulous cast aids this movies credibility with January Jones, Diane Kruger, Frank Langella and Aidan Quinn all taking roles. Orphan director Jaume Collet-Serra is on hand to make sure that a coherent movie is forged out of the chaos .

Unknown is out in the States February 18th. No Irish release date confirmed yet. I’m loving this poster by the way.
