Transformers 3 – Tudyk joins cast

Production on Transformers 3, Michael Bay’s third robot filled action flick with more balls than brains, continues unabashed with Alan Tudyk signing up for as yet unspecified role.

The Firefly veteran, who has starred in 3:10 to Yuma, Death at a Funeral and recently in TVs Dollhouse and V, joins an already pretty extraordinary cast that as well as all original actors includes Patrick Dempsey, Frances McDormand and John Malkovich.

Details are slowly starting to emerge on the movie with annoying twin robot duo Skids and Mudflap having been dropped and star Shia LeBeouf promising that the new movie will rectify the mistakes of the second. “There’s going to be a lot of death, human death. This time, they’re targeting humans,” he said. “It’s going to be the craziest action movie ever made, or we failed.”

Director Bay has scheduled shooting time at the Kennedy Space Centre, which has triggered a belief that some of the action might will take place in space. Whatever the plot this is sure to be one of summer 2011’s biggest releases.
