Behold the trailer for Swedish director Roy Andersson’s eloquently titled A Pigeon Sat On A Branch Reflecting On Existence, which is premiering at the Venice Film Festival.
The film marks, what Andersson calls, “the final part of a trilogy about being a human being”, which started with Songs From The Second Floor and You, The Living.
The film tells the story of two travelling salesman on a journey through human destiny, and stars Holger Andersson and Nisse Vestblom.
A Pigeon Sat On A Branch Reflecting On Existence will likely hit our shore early next year.
Like modern times’ Don Quixote and Sancho Panza, Sam and Jonathan, two travelling salesmen peddling novelty items, take us on a kaleidoscopic wandering through human destinies. A trip that shows us the beauty of single moments, the pettiness of others, the humour and tragedy that is in us, life’s grandeur as well as frailty of humanity.
