A new poster for John Hillcoat’s adaptation of Cormac McCarthy best-selling novel The Road has been released.
The movies plot sees a father and son take to the titular road after the death of the mother. This journey takes place in a post-apocalyptic world and sees the pair encounter cannibals, armed militia, as well as other refugees along the path south. It’s a struggle for survival in a world no longer capable of sustaining life.
The good news is that Hillcoat is promising to stick as close to the source material as possible. With the Coen brothers ‘ adaptation of McCarthy other excellent No Country for Old Men having gone down a storm with critics and audiences alike, expect to see this movie on the Oscar short-list in January.
