When Disney dropped The Chronicles of Narnia after the modest returns for Prince Caspian fears spread for the future of the franchise. In stepped Fox to “rescue” the sequels, and now we have the poster for thee first of those The Chronicles of Narnia: The Voyage of the Dawn Treader.
The original film made more than $700 million at the box-office while the sequel garnered to considerably lesser sum of $400 million, still a fine chunk of change but obviously not enough for Disney’s liking. Fox, unafraid to take a chance and obviously figuring that the main reason for the 2nd Narnia movie’s “flop” was the summer release, returns the 3rd to the winter slot and aims it head on for Disney’s Tron Legacy.
Voyage follows the Pevensie children fall into a painting and land on to a fantastic ship headed for the very edges of the world, to the country of Aslan’s birth. Teaming up with friend Prince Caspian and the adventurous warrior mouse Reepicheep, the motley crew attempt once again to save the land of Narnia.
The movie (which is also in 3D) is out December 10th.
