Super new trailer for Super

One of my favourite underrated movies of the last 10 years was James Gunn’s Slither, starring Nathan Fillion. Will Gunn is back (without Fillion) to bring us Super, a tale of an ordinary guy who decides to become a superhero.

The movie follows Frank, an ordinary guy whose wife leaves him to hook up with a local drug-dealer. Vowing to win he back he transforms himself into a crime-fighting hero known as The Crimson Bolt, and sets out to rid the city of evil!

Comedian Rainn Wilson is in the title role, with Liv Tyler, Kevin bacon and Ellen Page adding considerable heft to the proceedings. The title looks great, irreverent and funny, and all early indications is that we have another sleeper hit on our hands here.

Super is released Stateside April 1st, with no Irish release date as of yet.

Synopsis:

After his wife Sarah ( Liv Tyler) hooks up with a smooth-talking drug dealer named Jacques (Kevin Bacon), Frank (Rainn Wilson) transforms himself into superhero “The Crimson Bolt”. Then with the help of a trusty wrench, Frank wages a one man war on crime. Libby (Ellen Page), a local comic book store employee, transforms herself into a superheroine named “Boltie” and becomes Frank’s sidekick. The two then team up to take Jacques down.
