First trailer for Rod Lurie’s Straw Dogs remake

There’s a lot of bad movies out there that deserve a remake and a second shot at life. Sam Peckinpah’s Straw Dogs is not one of them, but getting remade it is. And today we get our first look with the release of the trailer.

The remake moves the story from rural England to the deep South where a screenwriter and his wife move to her hometown.  There they fight and bicker, encounter hostility from the locals, and things only get worse from there.

The Last Castle director Rod Lurie is the force behind he remake, working of his own script. He’s assembled a quality cast too that includes James Marsden, Kate Bosworth, Alexander Skarsgård, Dominic Purcell, Laz Alonso, Walton Goggins, and James Woods.

Straw Dogs is out September 16th.

Synopsis:

L.A. screenwriter David Sumner relocates with his wife to her hometown in the deep South. There, while tensions build between them, a brewing conflict with locals becomes a threat to them both.
