New trailer for Real Steel

One of the strangest movie this year sees Hugh Jackman as a boxing instructor. Okay that sounds normal enough, but the twist is his protege is a robot. Nice! Today DreamWorks released a new trailer for the film, which is titled Real Steel.

The film stars Jackman as a washed-up boxer who attempts to reconnect with his estranged son. To do this the pair build and train a fighting robot for the World Robot Boxing championship. The Wrestler this ain’t.

The film is directed by Shawn Levy, who last gave us Date Night and Night at the Museum, so expect a family tone.  The film also stars Anthony Mackie, Hope Davis, Kevin Durand, and Evangeline Lilly.

Real Steel is out October 7th.

Synopsis:

Charlie Kenton is a washed-up fighter who lost his chance at a title when 2000-pound, 8-foot-tall steel robots took over the ring. Now nothing but a small-time promoter, Charlie earns just enough money piecing together low-end bots from scrap metal to get from one underground boxing venue to the next. When Charlie hits rock bottom, he reluctantly teams up with his estranged son Max to build and train a championship contender. As the stakes in the brutal, no-holds-barred arena are raised, Charlie and Max, against all odds, get one last shot at a comeback.
