New US poster for Xavier Dolan's Mommy

Lionsgate and Roadside Attractions, via IndieWire, have released a new poster for writer-director Xavier Dolan’s Cannes Film Festival winning Mommy. It’s essentially the same image, but justa bit more colourful.

The film, which is Canada’s official entry for Best Foreign Language film at the Oscars, tells the story of a single mom and her potentially violent son, struggling to survive one another. Things change when a mysterious neighbour enters their lives.

The film stars Anne Dorval, Antoine-Olivier Pilon, Suzanne Clement, Alexandre Goyette, and Patrick Huard. Our Philip saw it at the London Film Festival last month and was very impressed.

Mommy is expected out in Ireland early next year.

A feisty widowed single mom finds herself burdened with the full-time custody of her unpredictable 15-year-old ADHD son. As they struggle to make ends meet, Kyla, the peculiar new neighbor across the street, offers her help. Together, they find a new sense of balance, and hope is regained.
