New poster for J.C. Chandor's A Most Violent Year

A24 films has released a new poster for J.C. Chandor’s A Most Violent Year.

The film tells the story of an immigrant and his family trying to expand their business amidst violence, decay, and corruption during one of the most violent years in New York City’s history, 1981.

This is the latest from Margin Call and All Is Lost director Chandor, and stars Oscar Isaac and Jessica Chastain, with cinematography by Bradford Young. That’s awards calibre talent all round.

A Most Violent Year is out January 23rd.

Set during the winter of 1981 — statistically one of the most crime-ridden of New York City’s history — this drama follows the lives of an immigrant and his family as they attempt to capitalize on the American Dream, while the rampant violence, decay, and corruption of the day drag them in and threaten to destroy all they have built
