Disney, via Fandango, has released three new banners for its animated aviation spin-off of Pixar’s Cars franchise, titled Planes. Each of these has a playful pun in the tagline and features some of the main characters from the film. They’re kinda cute.
The film follows Dusty, “a small town dreamer who longs to enter the most epic around-the-world air race… despite his fear of heights.”
The characters pictured include Dusty, a crop-duster voiced by Dane Cook, Bravo and Echo, two fighter jets voiced by Anthony Edwards and Val Kilmer, Skipper voiced by Stacy Keach, Leadbottom voiced by Cedric the Entertainer, Dottie voiced by Teri Hatcher, Chug voiced by Brad Garrett, Ripslinger voiced by Roger Craig Smith, voiced by Ned and Zed Gabriel Iglesias, El Chupacabra voiced by Carlos Alazraqui, Rochelle voiced by Julia Louis-Dreyfus, Bulldog voiced by John Cleese, Ishani voiced by Priyanka Chopra, Roper voiced by Sinbad and sports-announcing blimp Colin Cowling voiced by ESPN sports pundit Colin Cowherd.
Planes is out in Ireland on August 16th.
The all-new story offers an exciting cast of characters and centers on Dusty’s high-flying dream. But Dusty’s not exactly built for racing, so he turns to a seasoned naval aviator who helps Dusty qualify to take on the defending champ of the race circuit. Dusty’s courage is put to the ultimate test as he aims to reach heights he never dreamed possible, giving a spellbound world the inspiration to soar. The film is produced by Traci Balthazor-Flynn and executive produced by John Lasseter.
