A whole bevy of ladies are joining Paul Rudd in his latest comedy outing My Idiot Brother, with Elizabeth Banks, Zooey Deschanel, Emily Mortimer and Rashida Jones all signing on.
Banks is set to play his career-focused single sister who is more interested in making it big as a journalist than finding time for her social life. Deschanel will play another sister who is in a relationship with Jones, which is suffering due to her flaky nature. And Mortimer is the responsible sister, married with kids, but in a loveless marraige that is falling apart.
Rudd’s character takes it upon himself to visit all 3 sisters and wreck havoc/help in their lives. It’s a poor premise, reminiscent of Four Christmases, but the comedic talent should make it fun.
Jesse Peretz, whose last movie The Ex was a stinker, is directing the film which is based on a script by his sister, Evgenia Peretz, and David Schisgall.
