Monsters – Brand new trailer

Here be Monsters. And mighty fine looking monsters they are too. A brand new trailer for Gareth Edward’s low budget creature feature has just debuted and boy is it good.

Mixing sci-fi with action and a splash of horror, Monsters stars Scott McNairy and Whitney Able as two US citizens trying to get back home by travelling through an alien infected region of northern Mexico.

The similarities to last years District 9 are immediately apparent with many online critics citing it as worthy of that comparison. Personally I can’t wait to see this as it looks like Edward’s has done an amazing job with a limited budget.

Monsters hits US cinemas October 29th, with Ireland infected November 26th.

Synopsis:

Six years ago NASA discovered the possibility of alien life within our solar system. A probe was launched to collect samples, but crashed upon re-entry over Central America. Soon after, new life forms began to appear and grow. In an effort to stem the destruction that resulted, half of Mexico was quarantined as an INFECTED ZONE. Today, the American and Mexican military still struggle to contain the massive creatures… Our story begins when a jaded US journalist (McNairy) begrudgingly agrees to find his boss’ daughter, a shaken American tourist (Able) and escort her through the infected zone to the safety of the US border.
