Here’s a new Japanese poster for Bryan Singer’s Jack the Giant Slayer. I like the Japanese posters for films generally as they tend to be a bit more artistic and well weird than their US and European counterparts. This one features a tiny Jack and a massive beanstalk, and is disappointingly stylisticly similar to the mainstream posters.
Nicholas Hoult plays Jack, in this re-imaging of the classic fairytale, as a farmer who leads an expedition into the land of the giants in order to rescue a kidnapped princess.
Eleanor Tomlinson plays the princess, with Ian McShane as King Brahmwell and Ewan McGregor as the knight, Elmont. Also along for the ride are Stanley Tucci, Eddie Marsan, Bill Nighy and Warwick Davis.
Jack the Giant Slayer opens in Ireland on March 22nd.
Jack the Giant Slayer tells the story of an ancient war that is reignited when a young farmhand unwittingly opens a gateway between our world and a fearsome race of giants. Unleashed on the Earth for the first time in centuries, the giants strive to reclaim the land they once lost, forcing the young man, Jack, into the battle of his life to stop them. Fighting for a kingdom, its people, and the love of a brave princess, he comes face to face with the unstoppable warriors he thought only existed in legend—and gets the chance to become a legend himself.
