First TV spot for Hanna released

Focus Features has released the first TV spot for the Saoirse Ronan starring teenage assassin movie Hanna. It offers little by the way of new footage but is a timely reminder of the potential this film has to be great.

Hanna tells the story of a 16-year-old assassin, trained by her father to be the ultimate killing machine, who is dispatched on a mission and is forced to flee an intelligence agent across Europe.

Eric Bana stars as Ronan’s dad, with Blanchett, Tom Hollander, Olivia Williams, and Michelle Dockery making up the rest of an impressive cast. Atonement director Joe Wright is behind the camera, and with the Chemical Brothers providing the score this has great potential.

Hanna is released in Ireland May 6th.

Synopsis:

Award-winning director Joe Wright creates a boldly original suspense thriller with HANNA, starring Academy Award nominee Saoirse Ronan (The Lovely BonesAtonement) in the title role.

Raised by her father (Eric Bana of Star Trek), an ex-CIA man, in the wilds of Finland, Hanna’s upbringing and training have been one and the same, all geared to making her the perfect assassin. The turning point in her adolescence is a sharp one; sent into the world by her father on a mission, Hanna journeys stealthily across Europe while eluding agents dispatched after her by a ruthless intelligence operative with secrets of her own (Academy Award winner Cate Blanchett).  As she nears her ultimate target, Hanna faces startling revelations about her existence and unexpected questions about her humanity.
