First Poster for Hanna

Focus Features have unveiled the first poster for the Saoirse Ronan starring Hanna, and it’s a bit grim. The close-up of Ronan’s  peircing blue eyes and the tag-line “Adapt or Die” make the whole thing kind of intimidating. I don’t think it’ll go on the bedroom wall.

Hanna tells the story of a young girl who is raised by her ex-CIA agent father (Eric Bana) in the Scadanavian hitherland, and has spent her entire life to date training one thing, becoming the perfect assassin. Strong, smart and with infinite stamina she’s Hit Girl meets Nikita, but more deadly!

This is Ronan’s second outing with director Joe Wright after the critically acclaimed Atonement and marks the latters first move into action territory. It makes for interesting viewing when the movie comes out this summer.

Synopsis:

Award-winning director Joe Wright creates a boldly original suspense thriller with HANNA, starring Academy Award nominee Saoirse Ronan (The Lovely BonesAtonement) in the title role.

Raised by her father (Eric Bana of Star Trek), an ex-CIA man, in the wilds of Finland, Hanna’s upbringing and training have been one and the same, all geared to making her the perfect assassin. The turning point in her adolescence is a sharp one; sent into the world by her father on a mission, Hanna journeys stealthily across Europe while eluding agents dispatched after her by a ruthless intelligence operative with secrets of her own (Academy Award winner Cate Blanchett).  As she nears her ultimate target, Hanna faces startling revelations about her existence and unexpected questions about her humanity.
