Fright Night gets a trailer and poster

Fright Night shouldn’t be remade. But it has been and the first trailer for the project shows that it actually could be pretty good. There’s also  pretty neat new poster too.

The story follows Charlie, an ordinary high-school teenager who begins to suspect that his next-door-neighbour is a vampire. Fearing this strange man’s hold over his mom he recruits the help of  a local late-night-TV horror movie host to rid the neighbourhood of the evil menace.

The cast is certainly very good, with Anton Yelchin, Colin Farrell, Christopher Mintz-Plasse, David Tennant and Toni Collette starring.  Buffy scribe Marti Noxon has penned the script, and relocated the action to Las Vegas.

Fright Night opens in the US on August 19th and Ireland on September 2nd.

Synopsis:

Senior Charlie Brewster (Yelchin) finally has it all going on: he’s running with the popular crowd and dating the most coveted girl in his high school. In fact, he’s so cool he’s even dissing his best friend. But trouble arrives when Jerry (Farrell) moves in next door. He seems like a great guy at first, but there’s something not quite right—but everyone, including Charlie’s mom (Collette), doesn’t notice. After observing some very strange activity, Charlie comes to an unmistakable conclusion: Jerry is a vampire preying on the neighborhood. Unable to convince anyone, Charlie has to find a way to get rid of the monster himself.
