There’s some movies, particularly ones from my childhood, that I strongly feel should never be remade. Fright Night, the 1985 horror classic is one such movie, and guess what, it’s being remade. Aargh!
The plot for those who have been unfortunate enough to have missed the original sees a young horror movie fanatic suspect that his new neighbour is a vampire after seeing him carrying a coffin whilst moving in next door. It’s pure schlocky gold!
Reformed bad-boy Colin Farrell is playing the neighbour, with Star Trek stand-out Anton Yelchin playing the geek (bit of a stretch for him!), and Toni Collette possibly cast as Yelchin’s mother. Lars and the Real Girl director Craig Gillespie is at the reins and with the acting talent should ensure that the movie is a success. I still wish they’d left it alone though.
