First image for X-Men: First Class fails to impress

I’m not too keen on the first image from X-Men: First Class, in fact I think it’s really rather rubbish. It’s small, dark and looks like it was photoshopped together by a monkey with ADD.

On the plus side it does hark back to the classic style of the superhero comics, and feels about right with the movies the precede it.

The image shows most of the main cast with Michael Fassbender (Magneto), Rose Byrne (Moira MacTaggert), January Jones (Emma Frost), Jason Flemyng (Azazel), Nicholas Hoult (Beast), Lucas Till (Havok), Zoe Kravitz (Angel Salvadore), Jennifer Lawrence (Mystique), and James McAvoy (Professor Charles Xavier) all represented.

I still have high hopes for the Matthew Vaughan directed movie, although they have been tempered a bit by this.

Synopsis:

X-MEN: FIRST CLASS, following the classic Marvel mythology, charts the epic beginning of the X-Men saga. Before Charles Xavier and Erik Lensherr took the names Professor X and Magneto, they were two young men discovering their powers for the first time. Before they were archenemies, they were closest of friends, working together, with other Mutants (some familiar, some new), to stop the greatest threat the world has ever known. In the process, a rift between them opened, which began the eternal war between Magneto’s Brotherhood and Professor X’s X-Men.
