It turns out that MySpace might just have a use after all. The first 10 minutes of Emma Stone’s latest film Easy A have been posted on the social networking site to whet your appetite.
The movie, which is based on the classic novel The Scarlet Letter, sees Stone play a high-school girl whose little white lie concerning her virginity, or lack there of, transforms her from unknown to popular overnight. Soon she is seeing just what else lying can accomplish for her.
Easy A has a great line-up in addition to Stone that features Stanley Tucci, Amanda Bynes, Lisa Kudrow, Penn Badgely, Thomas Haden Church, Patricia Clarkson and Malcolm McDowell.
I’m not a big fan of studios giving away too much of a movie before hand and these 10 minute opening clips are a particular bugbear. Sure it is nice to see something familiar on-screen but it is difficult settle into a movie if you’ve already seen a significant part and are just waiting for the new stuff.
Easy A is getting good word of mouth out of the US where it opens tomorrow, we will get our chance to see the whole thing October 22nd.
