Decent poster for One Day

Have you heard about Anne Hathaway’s next film? No, not The Dark Knight Rises, I’m sure there are coma patients that are aware the third Christopher Nolan Batman is close at hand, I’m talking about One Day, a new romantic drama from An Education director Lone Scherfig.

The film is an adaptation of David Nicholls’ book of the same name, and revolves around a couple called  Emma and Dexter.  The pair first meet at their graduation from the University of Edinburgh in 1988, and make a pact to meet up on July 15th each year for the next 20 years. Think Before Sunset meets When Harry Met Sally.

Jim Sturgess stars alongside Hathaway in what should be a strong emotional film. Certainly the marketing is good so far with the denim wash poster harking back to the 1980’s in a stylistic and relevant manner.

One Day opens in the US on July 8th, Ireland and the UK  September 30th.
