Two new TV Spots for Cowboys & Aliens

Paramount Pictures have unveiled two TV spots for Jon Favreau’s epic summer adventure Cowboys & Aliens. There’s some new footage, but a lot of it we’ve seen before. Irrespective of this the film is still shaping up nicely and these serve as a welcome reminder that it is just around the corner.

The film is based on the graphic novel of the same name and sees Daniel Craig as a lost wanderer, with no memory, who appears in a quiet desert town where he is not entirely welcome. Even less welcome are an unfriendly group of extra-terrestrials who attack the town and abduct the townfolk. It is up to Craig, and the hard-talking Colonel Dolarhyde (Harrison Ford) to round up a posse and beat those darn aliens!

Joining Craig and Ford is Olivia Wilde who plays Ella, and  a host of other big names including Paul Dano, Sam Rockwell, Noah Ringer and Adam Beach. Transformers and Star Trek scribes Alex Kurtzman and Roberto Orci are producing and wrote the script with Lost co-creator Damon Lindelof. Hollywood heavyweights Steven Spielberg, Ron Howard and Brian Grazer are all producers too.

Cowboys & Aliens invades cinemas August 17th.

Synopsis:

1873. Arizona Territory. A stranger (Daniel Craig) with no memory of his past stumbles into the hard desert town of Absolution. The only hint to his history is a mysterious shackle that encircles one wrist. What he discovers is that the people of Absolution don’t welcome strangers, and nobody makes a move on its streets unless ordered to do so by the iron-fisted Colonel Dolarhyde (Harrison Ford). It’s a town that lives in fear.

But Absolution is about to experience fear it can scarcely comprehend as the desolate city is attacked by marauders from the sky. Screaming down with breathtaking velocity and blinding lights to abduct the helpless one by one, these monsters challenge everything the residents have ever known.

Now, the stranger they rejected is their only hope for salvation. As this gunslinger slowly starts to remember who he is and where he’s been, he realizes he holds a secret that could give the town a fighting chance against the alien force. With the help of the elusive traveler Ella (Olivia Wilde), he pulls together a posse comprised of former opponents—townsfolk, Dolarhyde and his boys, outlaws andApache warriors—all in danger of annihilation. United against a common enemy, they will prepare for an epic showdown for survival.
