Sam Rockwell appears in… Right now those words will perk my interest in any movie project. The man has an effortless cool about him and a screen presence most Hollywood actors would kill for.

So what’s he appearing in? Well it’s a movie called Conviction, which sees Sam the man imprisoned for murder. This event causes a dramatic change in his sister, played by Hilary Swank, that sees her return to school, become a lawyer and fight to free him. And it’s based on a true story.

It also stars the underrated Minnie Driver and Peter Gallagher. Gallagher is best known as Seth’s dad in The OC, and for singing in pretty much everything he’s ever done. Don’t know where they’ll find room for a solo here but I’m sure they’ll find one.

It has all the makings of a Oscar contender and should hopefully nab Rockwell the nomination he was cruelly denied for Moon. Check out the trailer below and watch for this one in cinemas around December/January.
