Mel Gibson is set to reteam with Lethal Weapon screenwriter Shane Black for a new spy thriller, Cold Warrior, to be produced by Universal Pictures.
The movie centres on a Cold War era spy who is taken out of retirement to team up with a younger agent after terrorist attacks on the US by old foe Russia.
Black is set to direct the movie, based on a script by Chuck Mondry. Shooting is likely to begin this summer once Gibson has rapped up his scenes on Adrian Grunburg’s How I Spent My Summer Vacation.
Shane Black’s directorial debut Kiss Kiss, Bang Bang was an underrated classic, and with thriller Edge of Darkness due out soon it’s great to see Gibson back in full on action mode.
