Four character posters have been put online for Cloud Atlas, the imaginative new film from the Wachowski siblings and Tom Tykwer. These feature 4 of the big name actors that feature in the film. The Susan Sarandon one is particularly unsettling so I don’t think I’ll put it up on my wall.
The film, which has an indescribable plot, spans multiple time periods and locations, with the cast assuming numerous roles across different races and genders.
The staggeringly star-polluted cast features Tom Hanks, Hugh Grant, Halle Berry, Jim Broadbent, Hugo Weaving, Jim Sturgess, Doona Bae, Ben Whishaw, James D’Arcy, Xun Zhou, Keith David, David Gyasi, and Susan Sarandon.
Cloud Atlas is out in the US October 26th, and Ireland on February 22nd.
Synopsis:
A reluctant voyager crossing the Pacific in 1850; a disinherited composer blagging a precarious livelihood in between-the-wars Belgium; a high-minded journalist in Governor Reagan’s California; a vanity publisher fleeing his gangland creditors; a genetically modified “dinery server” on death-row; and Zachry, a young Pacific Islander witnessing the nightfall of science and civilisation — the narrators of Cloud Atlas hear each other’s echoes down the corridor of history, and their destinies are changed in ways great and small.
