Irish film director Neil Jordan is making a vampire movie. Last time he did that it was Interview with a Vampire, and that turned out pretty well. He’s also nabbed Irish star-de-jour Saoirse Ronan for one of the leads.

The movie is called Byzantium, the film is based an original script by Moira Buffini, ndsees Ronan play the daughter of a vampire, who is turned by her mother. Gemma Arterton plays the mother, with Helena Bonham Carter, Ralph Fiennes and Jeremy Irvine also attached.

The film is being financed by BBC Films and the British Film Institute, and is due to start shooting in October.
