Now here’s an interesting movie that deserves more attention…Yahoo has just featured a second trailer for the Paul Giamatti starring Barney’s Version and damn does it look like a winner.
Giamatti plays a seemingly ordinary guy who takes the audience on a narrated journey through his life as he moves between three different wives, three different decades and two continents.
The snap-shot of the plot may make it sound like hokum but the trailer and the cast, which includes Dustin Hoffman, Rosamund Pike, Minnie Driver and Rachelle Lefevre in addition to Giamatti mark this as something more.
The movie is pencilled in for a January 7th release, so it will act as a perfect cure to those post-Christmas blues.
From producer Robert Lantos, Barney’s Version is a film based on Mordecai Richler’s prize-winning comic novel. Barney Panofsky (Paul Giamatti) is a seemingly ordinary man who lives an extraordinary life. Barney’s candid confessional spans four decades and two continents, and includes three wives (Rosamund Pike, Minnie Driver, and Rachelle Lefevre), one outrageous father (Dustin Hoffman) and a charmingly dissolute best friend (Scott Speedman).
