By now everyone and their mother knows who won all the big prizes at the 82nd Academy Awards. Congrats to The Hurt Locker helmer Kathryn Bigelow on a well-deserved win, for both direction and best picture.
Sandra Bullock becomes the first actor ever to pick up a best and worst performance in the same year (having picked up the dubious Worst Actress for All About Steve at the Razzies Saturday night). That’s a feat unlikely to be repeated any-time soon so congrats to her.
The only Irish winner on the night was Richard Baneham, who alongside Joe Letteri, Stephen Rosenbaum, and Andrew R. Jones picked up the Best Visual Effects award for James Cameron’s Avatar.
