First Trailer and Poster for “David O. Russell”‘s Accidental Love

Back in 2008, David O. Russell directed a film called Nailed. That film, which Russell left during production, has reemerged from the shadows of development hell as Accidental Love.

The film was finished by its producer Kia Jamm and now has Russell’s name removed from the screenplay and directorial credits. Instead we get a sole screenplay credit for Al Gore’s daughter Kristin, with Stephen Greene credited as director.

No matter what Russell’s reasoning for leaving the project he had assembled a quality ensemble cast before he did so. This features Jessica Biel, Jake Gyllenhaal, James Marsden, Paul Reubens, Catherine Keener, James Brolin, Tracy Morgan, Bill Hader, Kirstie Alley and Beverly D’Angelo.

The film is a political satire, tells the story of a small town waitress, who accidentally gets a nail lodged in her head as her boyfriend attempts his marriage proposal. Her predicament leads her on a journey to Washington DC, where she meets a dashing but clueless congressman, who might be able to help her unusual case.

Accidental Love is out in the US on VOD from February 10th and in cinemas from February 20th. No word on whether it will get an Irish release.
