Forget Jack Ryan, the next big Tom Clancy movie is all about John Clark, or Kelly as he is here before his CIA enforced name-change. The Shield creator Shawn Ryan has signed on to pen the adaptation of Without Remorse, one of Clancy’s better novels.
The movie will tell the story of ex-Navy SEAL Kelly, who after the murder of his girlfriend by a Baltimore drug ring vows revenge.
Audiences will be familar with John Clark, as he appeared in both Clear and Present Danger (played by Willem Dafoe) and The Sum of All Fears (played by Liev Schreiber), and will now get a chance to see a defining moment in what made the man.
It’s too early to know if Schreiber will return to the role, but honestly they could do a lot worse.
