Irish Film: Trampoline to screen at Beggarman Cork on June 12th

The award winning Irish independent feature film Trampoline is returning to Cork on Thursday June 12th at the Beggarman for one night only.

Written and directed by Tom Ryan, Trampoline is a coming of age story about a young woman named Angie (Aoife Spratt) who moves back home after finishing college and tries to readjust to small town life. She gets a job teaching at her old school and quickly realizes that she’s simply not cut out to teach and must rethink her career path.

The film was set and shot in Tipperary for a budget of less than €1000 that was sponsored by local businesses in the town. Trampoline deals with the current generation of students who find themselves lost and directionless after college and features strong female leads.

The film premiered at the inaugural Indie Cork Film Festival last October, at which it was one of the best selling films showcased. The movie is currently continuing its festival run and so far has had great success winning Best Feature at the Williamsburg Film Festival in New York, Best Actress at Indie Fest in LA and Best Coming of Age Feature at the Canada International Film Festival. It has also screened in Cineworld in Dublin as well as having a successful two week limited release at the Ormond Cineplex Nenagh.

The film will next screen in the innovative upstairs cinema of the Beggarman on Gillabbey Street Cork, Thurs June 12th at 8pm. Tickets are €5 at the door and includes free popcorn for the event.
