Deadline is reporting that Altitude Film Distribution has acquired the UK and Ireland rights to Simon Dixon’s Irish co-production Tiger Raid.
The film, which stars Brian Gleeson (The Stag, Standby) and Damien Molony (Clean Break), is a dark thriller featuring two mercenaries who journey across the desert while undertaking a kidnapping in Iraq.
The film is adapted by Gareth Coulam Evans and Mick Donnellan from Irish writer Mick Donnellan’s acclaimed play of the same name. It is produced by Martina Niland and David Collins for Dublin-based Samson Films and Gareth Coulam Evans for London’s Story Films with support from Bord Scannán na hÉireann/the Irish Film Board.
Wildcard Distribution have released a number of films in partnership with Altitude recently, so hopefully they will do likewise for this one. Tiger Raid, which has its world premiere in Tribeca in April, will be released later this year.
