Shooting is currently underway on Jim Sheridan’s The Secret Scripture. Earlier this week the production shot secenes on Dollymount Strand in Dublin and photographers from WENN were on scene to capture the action.
The film, which is an adaptation of Sebastian Barry’s 2008 Man Booker Prize nominated novel of the same name, is the story of a one-hundred-year-old woman, Roseanne McNulty, who now residing in Roscommon Regional Mental Hospital decides to write her autobiography.
Irish star Jack Reynor is pictured shooting, alongside co-stars Rooney Mara and Theo James. Other stars in the film include Vanessa Redgrave, Eric Bana, and Tom Vaughan-Lawlor.
Aside from Dublin the film is shooting in Wicklow, Sligo, and Kilkenny.
The Secret Scripture, which received a €600,000 commitment from the Fís Éireann/Screen Ireland (FÉ/SI) is the national development agency for Irish filmmaking and the Irish film, television and animation industry., is produced by Noel Pearson of Ferndale Films, in association with Voltage Pictures, the Ingenious Senior Film Fund, and the European Media Fund.
