Award-winning Irish director Graham Jones has released the trailer for his fourth feature The Randomers.
The film is the story of a girl on the West coast of Ireland who places an advertisement seeking a guy for a relationship “without speaking” and finds exactly what she’s looking for.
Sarah Jane Murphy and Joseph Lydon star as the central duo, which was shot in Counties Galway & Mayo during Spring of this year and features local actors, musicians and scenery.
The production didn’t even have a budget for catering, but that didn’t appear to bother the cast and crew who were eager to work on a challenging project. Sarah Jane Murphy of trad band The Murphy Sisters is quoted as saying “It was such a wonderful experience. It helped me grow as an actor and indeed as a person.” “We made a movie about a relationship that didn’t need words,” adds her onscreen love interest Joseph Lydon. “I think it will speak volumes.”
Graham Jones previously made The Green Marker Scare (2012), Fudge 44 (2005) and How to Cheat in the Leaving Certificate (1998) and is described by Variety Magazine as “a very talented director”.
The Randomers will be released in 2014. Find out more here as we get more, and via the film’s website.
