One of the more intriguing films to premiere at this year’s Galway Film Fleadh is The Light Of Day, which screens at 11pm on 10th July at the Galway Film Fleadh.
The Light Of Day is a mockumentary that tracks the disastrous attempts by a film crew to film an adaptation of popular graphic novel The Quench. With hilariously inept director Richie Martin (Aidan Lawlor) at the helm, production is derailed early on, leaving the crew desperately attempting to finish the film by any means necessary. With actors and crew dropping like flies, it falls to meek cinematographer Michael (Jack Hickey), to ensure the film sees the light of day.
The Light Of Day was produced by participants on the Filmbase/Staffordshire University MSc in Digital Feature Film Production, and filmed on location in Dublin City. The film is one of two films produced through the MSc to premiere at Galway this year, with the romantic-comedy Poison Pen set to
screen the following day.
The Light Of Day screens at 11pm, 10th July in the Town Hall Theatre. Tickets are now available from Town Hall Theatre Box Office and online via www.tht.ie.
