Element Pictures Distribution ,the Audi Dublin International Film Festival and Parallel Films have announced that the world premiere of Mark O’Rowe’s film directorial debut The Delinquent Season is now scheduled for Wednesday, April 25th in Cineworld, Dublin with all talent in attendance. The Delinquent Season will then hit cinemas across Ireland on April 27th.

The Delinquent Season is a tense drama which revolves around two couples in suburban Dublin – Jim and Danielle and Yvonne and Chris. On paper, they both appear to live in marital bliss, until an altercation between one couple occurs and cracks begin to appear in both of these seemingly steady marriages. The Delinquent Season is an examination of love, lust and family relationships and asks the question how well do any of us really know each other?

The film stars Cillian Murphy (Peaky Blinders, Dunkirk, Free Fire), Catherine Walker (Critical), Eva Birthistle (Brooklyn) and Andrew Scott (Spectre, Sherlock, Denial).

It was a privilege to work with such an amazing cast and crew on The Delinquent Season, and I am thrilled to be launching the film with The Dublin International Film Festival on April 25th.
Mark O’Rowe, Writer/Director

Writer/director O ’Rowe has several key writing credits to his name, including the award-winning Intermission (IFTA winner for Best Script in 2003), Boy A (BAFTA-nominated in two categories), Perrier’s Bounty (2010) and Broken (nominated for Best Screenplay at BIFA 2012).

We are delighted to celebrate the world premiere of Mark O’Rowe’s debut feature The Delinquent Season – it’s a beautifully calibrated portrait of married life, of secrets and lies – those we tell others and the ones we tell ourselves. Superbly acted with four actors at the top of their game.
Grainne Humphreys, Festival Director – Audi Dublin International Film Festival

We are privileged and excited to premiere The Delinquent Season at this year’s ADIFF. Mark O Rowe’s stunning directorial debut is a beautiful, poignant and searingly honest portrayal of marriage and human emotions and we are delighted to showcase the film and the work of the very finest Irish actors and crew at this wonderful festival.
