SDGI ARRI ALEXA TAKE 2019

#IrishTalent: Screen Directors Guild of Ireland announces selection for SDGI ARRI ALEXA TAKE 2019

The Screen Directors Guild of Ireland announces the official selection of directors for the SDGI ARRI ALEXA TAKE 2019: Siobhan Cleary, Janna Kemperman, Shaun O’Connor, and Ross Whitaker.

The SDGI ARRI ALEXA TAKE supports the production of experiential and conceptual visual films that spark discovery and inspiration for directors. Incorporated into the broader ecosystem of support to directors at SDGI the ARRI ALEXA TAKE serves as a launching point for creative risk taking and new collaborations in the screen industry. Directors will have the opportunity to shoot on the latest ARRI Alexa LF camera, to engage Irish Society of Cinematographers and Bowe Street, and the option to debut their film at a screening later in 2019.

The SDGI ARRI ALEXA TAKE has produced some outstanding Irish shorts in the last 8 years precisely because it encourages creative risk taking on the part of the director. We are seeing a real emphasis on the voice of the director in filmmaking at the moment and with so much directing talent in Ireland it is a privilege to be able to support that talent.
Maurice Sweeney, Chairperson – SDGI

Official selections of the SDGI ARRI ALEXA TAKE are chosen on the basis of their ability to enhance the creative development of directors and honour the outstanding creativity and talent demonstrated by the member of the Screen Directors Guild of Ireland.

Filmmaking is not for fainthearted and jointly with SDGI ARRI is trying to bring the latest and finest technology to aspiring cineastes and help them enlarge their visions and broaden horizons. This year we are providing to Alexa Take winners opportunity to shoot with our flagship ARRI Alexa LF camera and amazing Signature Prime lenses.
