#IrishTalent: Domhnall Gleeson to star in pilot for US TV thriller Run

Irish actor Domhnall Gleeson has signed up to star in his first TV series, taking a role in the pilot for Run, a romantic comedic thriller from Killing Eve creator Phoebe Waller-Bridge and Vicky Jones.

The series is written by Jones and centres on ex-lovers who made a pact 15 years ago that if they ever needed to escape life, they could send each other a simple text message – “RUN” – and impulsively disappear together. Gleeson will star as Bill Johnson, a successful life guru from a wealthy Irish family, with Waller-Bridge having a recurring role

Entertainment One will produce Run for HBO, with Waller-Bridge and Jones executive producers for DryWrite, with Emily Leo as executive producer for Wigwam Films.

Waller-Bridge and Jones first received international acclaim for UK TV series Fleabag, before enhancing that acclaim with hit series Killing Eve. Gleeson is currently on Irish screens in Lenny Abrahamson’s The Little Stranger, and will next appear in Andrea Berloff’s The Kitchen, with Elisabeth Moss, Melissa McCarthy and Tiffany Haddish, and JJ Abrams’ Star Wars: Episode IX.

Gleeson is represented by The Agency in Dublin and Paradigm in L.A..
