Irish Film: Short Scratch Official Selection at Tribeca Film Festival 2014

Warrior Films has announced that the RTE / Galway Film Centre funded satirical short film Scratch, directed by Philip Kelly, has been selected for this year’s Tribeca Film Festival (to be screened as part of the Festival’s shorts program: “Handle With Care”).

Commenting on the announcement, co-writer and producer of Scratch  Liam Ryan said,
we are absolutely thrilled that our short film has been accepted at this most prestigious festival
Established in 2007 Warrior Films produces feature films, documentaries and short films which have screened at festivals around the world. Scratch  is the third Warrior Films project to feature at the Tribeca Film Festival.

Scratch tells the story of Eoin who works the night shift in a quiet petrol station. His main source of distraction night after night is regular customer Ger who believes he has a system for picking winning scratch cards. Things take an unexpected turn with the arrival of a masked armed robber starting a chain of events that neither Eoin nor Ger could have predicted. Scratch features an impressive cast of rising Irish talent with Conor Drum as Eoin, and also starring Stephen Jones (Druid Murphy, Love/Hate), Sam Keeley (Raw, What Richard Did) and Ian Lloyd Anderson (Love/Hate, Standby).

Scratch debuted at JDIFF 2013 and received a remarkable response. From there it has travelled from festival to festival being selected for Galway Film Fleadh 2013, San Francisco Irish Film Festival 2013, Cork Film Festival 2013, Foyle Film Festival 2013, Chicago Irish Film Festival 2013 and London Short Film Festival 2013.
