Irish Film: Principal photography wraps on Charlo Johnson's short Positive Discrimination

Irish writer and director Charlo Johnson has completed filming on his first short film Positive Discrimination, which will be submitted to the festival run in 2015.

Following quite an intense shooting schedule Charlo commented “Luckily, we have an incredibly talented cast and everybody on set fed off this energy – the commitment from everyone was absolutely incredible and we are all very excited about the journey ahead”.

Positive Discrimination, which was shot in Dublin’s inner city is an intense drama that centres on Tanya, a college student struggling to pay her tuition fees, who receives advice from the most unlikely of sources: an elderly gentleman who has an unconventional perspective on life.

The film stars Róisín O’Donovan (Love, Rosie), Liam Burke (Ripper Street), Niall Dempsey (Grainne Uaile), Maghnús Foy, Collette Kinsella, Jill Pilkington, Lucy Rainer, and Jean Cummins.

Camera work is by Andrei Ghenoside and Rú Tobin, with sound by Greg Burrowes, make up Tatsiana Burenkova and editing by Doina Zavadschi.
